Where Does Your PTSA Donation Go?

All of these items and programs were funded through the HTMS PTSA Tax-Deductible Family Donation Program, the local portion of your PTSA membership dues and passive efforts like Grocery Store Cards and Recycling.

 

The following is a brief recap of the 2006-2007 Hightower Trail PTSA expenditures:

 

  • Education grants for teachers and academic departments to support professional development and special projects

                            3 Stationary Spin Cycles for PE Classes

                            Asian Wireless Baby for FACS Classes

                            Tobacco Program for Health Classes

                            Lego Robotics Kit and software license for the Robotics Club

                            7th Grade Science subscription to the Explore Learning Website

                            Graphing Dry Erase Board

                            Various books, manipulatives, VHS, DVD, subscriptions  

                            Art and other supplies  for classroom use

                            Wall atlases and globes for 6th & 7th Grade Social Studies classes

  • Hospitality for teacher and staff appreciation, such as the Pre-Planning, Holiday and End of the  Year Luncheons, Bi-monthly Birthday Cakes and monthly treats, support for Area 3 Principals  Brunch, and Home Depot Day
  • Newcomers' Breakfast to welcome new families to the Hightower Trail Community
  • Honors Recognition Certificates and Principal*s Honor Receptions in recognition of academic success every 9 nine weeks.
  • www.HightowerTrailPTSA.org a clearinghouse of information and resources for parents, teachers, and students. 
  • Special presentations and forums on issues of interest to parents 
  • Contribution to the PTSA Funded Parenting Library/Information Center
  • Funding for student projects

  • Character Education Monthly Contests to encourage character building. Banners to support Character Words
  • Support for Night of the Arts and Art Works Day

  • Husky Highlights, the PTSA*s email newsletter delivered directly to your email inbox every week  
  • Trail Blazer, the PTSA's paper newsletter mailed to all student's home

PTSA memberships, family donations, and volunteer hours make all this possible!  You can be a part of this effort by joining the PTSA and working with us. We welcome and encourage everyone in the HTMS community to join PTSA and volunteer!
